There are many websites that can get you a quote online and a couple have been mentioned here. However, an independent insurance agent can research multiple companies and find the best policy at the best premium for your particular circumstances instead of trying to use a one size fits all approach. In addition when you use online or 800 number companies, you will never be able to talk to the same person twice and will have no one to advocate on your behalf or even explain the nuances of why a particular plan or policy limit might be better than another. I suggest getting references from friends or family members about local agents so that you can get the best possible service and rate!
Sure but why... even if you sign up on line and get a binder, the company is STILL going to call you to confirm things and fill in the blanks that the on line form skips.
If you then get a different quote you may not keep the policy in which case you have wasted your time.
Better to do the Q&A first, get a firm quote, and get it over with.
