Hope it works out

I have no idea what "half coverage" means, and I am a retired insurance broker with many years experience.

Please post which province you live in, as what is available on-line, and where you look for it, is not the same in every jurisdiction.

Edit Oct 31:

So it sounds like you are asking for liability coverage only, no coverage on your own car. Whether that is even available is till dependent on where you live. In Manitoba for instance, it can't be split off, your minimum policy is $200,000 tpl, $500 deductible comprehensive/collision/upset, and Personal Injury Protection Plan, injury claims are all no-fault settlement.

So, I ask again, where do you live? Canada is a huge country.

You get a quote by finding an independent agent, giving him your information, and letting his search his data base for a good match for you.

But, there is no such thing as "half coverage".

I would like to suggest you get as much information as you could before taking action, here http://www.insuranceidea.info/free-insurance.htm is a good place for that.
