Where to find the best auto insurance quotes?

I was searching for the answer. hope to find the one for my car

See this http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html take the quote, they'll come back with prices from different insurers in your area. It's very quick and free of charge.

But to find a cheap price you should get several quotes, do some legwork till something better will come along.

Here's more from my bookmarks

Honestly internet auto insurance quotes are so far off and most will direct you to a live agent anyway. All you have to do is call up an insurance agency and get the quotes direct.

Give them your licenses number, the licenses number of whoever else that will be driving, the make and model of the car and tell them how many tickets you have had, and that's that.

Look in your phone book or search the web for insurance agencies. Most agencies have like 4 or more companies you can get insurance thru, I find progressive had the best deal for me. All State is high, unless you're over 35, have never been in an accident nor have any tickets.

Any insurance company can claim they have the best quote on their insurance. However there are a few things to conceder. Your age, you past driving history etc..Be prepared to tell your insurance claims adjuster the whole story. then ask around for a better quote.

Places like "progressive.com can save you money, but if you fall into that "common" or "gray" area. You may not save as much as you had hoped for.

Also it depends on what type of car you drive, how far you drive and even where you live can determine your insurance rate.

Generally speaking, by talking to an independent agent. You don't want one that works for one company with the "One size fits all" thinking. You want an independent that can get your needs, your information, and then check his data base of multiple companies to find one that fits your needs.

Check this auto insurance company, I guess they can address your problem.

krofta K,

Here's a nice site I found where you can quickly compare auto insurance quotes with all the national providers for Free.

I have Mercury because they are the cheapest for me but I would go on Progressive.com and they give you their rate plus 3 or 4 other companies' rates so it is worth a shot.

Try getting an online insurance quote from one of the major insurance providers.

Does it hurt my credit score when I ask for quotes for auto insurance?

I just turned 25 and I'm tired of getting hosed on my premiums. I want to start shopping around but I know that the insurance companies check your credit score. What's the best way to go about getting quotes?

If you are only getting a quote for insurance , then no it does not have a effect your credit score. The only time your credit score is affected is each time a credit check is done, plus, any business that wants to do a credit check is required by federal law to ask for your permission and they must have your social security number in order to get the results on the right person. A friendly tip on insurance quotes, shop at the "one company" insurance agencies like state farm, allstate, nationwide, etc. stay away from independent insurance agents.

Gillian G. and Silverstang ...........YES, each time a inquiry is done on your credit. YOU LOOSE POINTS ON YOUR BEACON SCORE.

i do not think so

They check your credit score because it may affect your auto insurance quote. If you have a good credit score you may get a lower quote. It doesn't affect your score if they just look. There's a good explanation of this on this website:

If they actually pull your credit, then YES your credit will be affected. Each time your credit is pulled it takes away from your beakon score. Normally an insurance quote does not require a credit check so you should be ok if they don't pull your credit.

Just by them looking at your credit score does nothing. It won't hurt anything at all. Is best to do that anyways, maybe ask them if you can view too to make sure your stuff is straight.

I would not think so.

you lose one point for an inquiry

HEY, you've seen the lizard. Listen to the little guy. (he's green)

Getting a quote won't hurt your credit score. Are you kidding? At 25 you don't have any credit.

Can getting on-line auto insurance quotes adversely affect one's credit history?

Since insurance companies do pull one's credit history.

Thanks.

GG_007

Some insurance companies pull credit reports, some don't. Some who do only pull it during the purchase process, not the quote process.

Typically, credit inquiries by insurance companies are considered "soft" inquiries and do not affect credit scores.

Therefore, it's not something to be concerned about.

No, it does not affect your credit score. When auto insurance companies do a credit check they do it through a third party and so they do not see your personal details. This is all explained on this website. I hope this helps.

Good luck!

I think you mean "credit score." Credit history is borrowing and paying back. I recently applied for a home equity line of credit. Two reasons listed for my score being less than perfect were "length of accounts" and "too many inquiries in the past 12 months." I have no idea as to who was inquiring, when or why. I got the line of credit and decided to leave the credit report alone.

No, absolutely not. The only thing that affects your credit history adversely is late credit payments, defaulting on loans, or declaring bankruptcy.

I was told by a financial analyst that every time your credit is run it lowers your credit score.

No, getting quotes does not affect your credit history because it's just a quote, nothing more. It's not a contract or anything like that.

Do Auto Insurance Quotes Affect Your Credit Score?

If I apply for a ton of different car quotes will it hurt my credit?

The general rule of thumb is that if you don’t provide a Social Security Number there is no way to tie the request directly to you. It’s rare that you will encounter an auto-insurance company that requires an SSN for a quote.

In the case that an auto-insurance company requires an SSN my advice would be to steer clear. There are literally hundreds of auto-insurance companies begging for your business, each of which usually offer free online auto insurance quotes.

Bottom line is, don’t be afraid to be quoted as many times as you’d like. In fact, I suggest being quoted by at least 10 different companies. I took the time to do this and in the end I ended up saving a few hundred dollars per year. Anyway I hope that helps, just search for auto insurance quotes in Google and you will be inundated with free offers  Here’s a free quote you can get from my current provider to get you started: http://www.rsrvr.com/auto-insurance-quote/

No. They don't check your credit.

If you are just asking for quotes, than it won't affect your edit at all. If you are actually signing up with all of these companies, then you have a problem.

They don't make reports to your credit, and would only run your credit if you signed up, so no, get as many quotes as you'd like.

Almost all companies check your credit when getting a quote. It is part of the quoting process. The agent doesn't see your credit as it is run in the background and is calculated into the rates you are given. I represent multiple companies and only one of the companies does not run credit. When the credit is run for an insurance quote it is not supposed to affect your credit.

If you were to call me and ask for a quote and refused to give me your social security number I would not be able to give you a quote. Some people don't want their credit used but if you have good credit your rates will be much lower than if you used a company that does not use credit scoring.

In almost all states it is a requirement that we let you know that we will be checking credit and with some states we have to have a signed OK in order to do it.

Also, I never keep any social security numbers on my desk. I have all social security numbers shredded as soon as the quote is completed.

Actually, contrary to popular belief: SOME insurance companies do check your credit. Not all.

I suggest you be careful prior to giving authorization, and ASK them if they check your credit.

If they do, say "thanks but no thanks"

A whole bunch on inquiries on your Fico score can bring it down.

Online Auto Insurance Quotes, Are they really Secure?

Look anywhere on the net and you will see an advertisement for a free online auto insurance quote.

For you to actually receive a accurate auto insurance quote online you must first submit all your personal information including your social security number. Can this really be the safe way to shop for auto insurance?

Stick with the major carriers websites. Avoid web sites not associated with a major carrier that offer comparative quotes. The quotes you receive will be estimates and the result will be that the policy will not be issued at the price that was quoted.

You might also look to be sure you are on a secured site. look for "https" in the URL.

P.S. Are you secure in your knowledge of the appropriate coverage. Lots more to auto insurance than price.

Yes. They are secure. But I would not buy that way. Call around and get some quotes. A live person is always better.

How do I get auto insurance quotes?

You can find the list of local auto insurance agents by searching for them using local.google.com. You can search for auto insurance agents near your zip code, and you will get a lot of results. All you have to do is give them your details and they will get back to you with the best quote.

You can even check your quotes online at national auto insurance companies like

State farm - Statefarm.com

Geico - Geico.com

Nationwide insurance - Nationwide.com

American family insurance - amfam.com

etc.

But if you don't have enough driving history, you will probably not receive any quotes online. So I would suggest you contact them directly by calling them.

And a suggestion, The rates vary dramatically from provider to provider. So, don't buy insurance without exploring all options

Another way to get auto insurance quotes is to use a quote service online.

InsureMe provides auto insurance quotes from leading auto insurance companies. They have helped millions of consumers shop online for insurance since 1993.

You just fill out one easy form to compare the five lowest quotes for auto insurance at - http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=613596&Type=auto

I hope that helps you get auto insurance quotes. Best of luck to you!

How accurate are online auto insurance quotes?

I think the heading says it all..

I have gotten all my insurance on line for past 5 yrs, and all quotes were right on. Only time they might not be is if u don't disclose all of your violations. Stay with a major carrier thou, ie progressive or gieko.

as long as you are completely honest with all your info then your quote should be good, it's generally when a person has been dishonest or withheld info that the insurance "discovers" the truth and "adjusts" the premium

they are just quotes i've been told and noticed, but they can change when they look further into your credit and driving record.

Florida Auto Insurance Quotes Online, are they really safe?

Florida residents do you really think entering all your valuable personal information online for an auto insurance quote is really the safe way to obtain auto insurance?

A local personalized auto insurance agent who you can pick up the phone and call or stop by their office sounds so much safer and personal.

I am a resident of Miami Florida and I can tell you first hand to be very careful entering any private information online. I have recently had my Identity stolen from entering my personal information which had to include my social security number for a free online auto insurance quote. Never again will I so easily be swayed to enter my personal information into the world wide web for all to see. My thoughts, there are people who can hack into anywhere online, do yourself a favor and try to limit the information you submit onto the web.

I now currently have my florida auto insurance with Florida Auto Plus Insurance out of Miami Florida 1-877-WIZ-AUTO

They have been awarded Top Auto Insurance Agency in Florida.

Check them out at http://www.FloridaAutoPlusInsurance.com

Beth do yourself a favor and which ever company you choose to purchase your Florida Auto Insurance from just be sure you speak with a knowledgable auto agent who can fully assist you in purchasing only the insurance that fits your individual needs.

I wouldnt bother online. Computers can't replace human judgement. You don't pay extra for the services of an agent. Every company has to use a distribution system, those with agents have online access too,but at least you get someone who does care about your situation and can give you personal advice.

Some people actually think it's more private, than going to a local agent.

Beth,

I am an insurance agent, so expect a little bias on my part. By dealing with an agent, especially an independent agent, you have somebody that knows you on a personal level. When you call them, they can answer your questions, take your payments, get you what you need, fight for you when you have a problem, and be there for you every time you call. With an 800 number, you will likely never talk to the same person twice. There will not be anyone to advocate for you when something goes wrong. You won't be able to sit across a table from the person and have your policy explained to you.

So, that's why I recommend an agent. An independent agent will have numerous insurance companies to choose from to get you the best coverage at the best possible price.

If you do decide to look for insurance online, at least stay with reputable insurance companies. If you put your personal information on one of those generic websites that promise online quotes from multiple companies, you just might have bought a case of identity theft.

Good luck in your search!
